India Exchange Visit

Over the past two weeks, we were fortunate enough to have a group of students from our sister school, the Adhyapana School in Mudrai, India visit our school and two other schools in the Frankston North Schools Consortia.

As well as spending time at our school and attending classes with our students, the group were fortunate enough to spend time across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, visiting sights such as the Melbourne Aquarium, Melbourne Star, MCG, Moonlight Sanctuary, Arthurs Seat and of course, a trip on Melbourne’s famous trams.

The trip, organised in conjunction with the Frankston North Schools Consortia, Frankston North Rotary Club and Mudrai West Rotary Club was a fantastic way for our students to learn more about Indian culture and education, as well as for the Indian students to learn more about Australian culture. This hopefully the start of a long term partnership between the schools.

A message from the Principal of Adhyapana School:

“Greetings from Adhyapana.

I do not know if words are sufficient to express how pleased all our three groups , including the teachers , are at the wonderful time they had at Melbourne being with all three schools and enjoying the hospitality you extended.

Stuart, thanks to you all this has come about. You are simply awesome – the way you have gone about extending your hand of friendship is simply commendable. John and Kathie – you have done so much towards this global linkage. The entire experience has been an immense learning experience for our children – in fact , no book can give them this kind of knowledge. As teachers we know that experiential learning can be life- changing for young minds and now our teams have come back with so many wondrous things to share that I feel they have truly blossomed as citizens of the world.

All I hear from them is only glorious things about all the hosts and the joy they experienced in the schools. Now I know we have a lot of planning to do with providing your teams a wonderful time with us when they land here. We promise we will live up to your standards. Please do plan your visit and let us know.

Looking ahead to a glorious and sustained relationship with all of you.”
